Healthy Ramadan Recipes: Suhoor, Iftar & Desserts
Easy healthy Ramadan recipes: suhoor that lasts until sunset, light iftar soups and mains, and lighter Ramadan desserts — plus healthy fasting tips.
Your guide to a healthy fast
🌙 Suhoor
- Eat it as late as possible before dawn.
- Choose slow carbs: oats, wholegrain bread, beans.
- Add protein: eggs, yogurt, labneh.
- Go easy on salt to avoid thirst.
🌅 Iftar
- Start with two dates and water.
- Then a warm soup.
- Pray Maghrib, then the main dish.
- Fill half the plate with veg.
💧 Water
- 8 glasses between iftar and suhoor.
- Spread them: 2 at iftar, 4 in between, 2 at suhoor.
- Cut back on tea and coffee.
🍬 Dessert
- A small portion after taraweeh.
- Try air-fryer versions.
- Date syrup instead of sugar syrup.
⚠️ If you have diabetes or a health condition, talk to your doctor before and during Ramadan.
